SHOP POSITIONS:

Custom Woodworker – 5 yrs exp

Location: 2640 Minnehaha Ave. Minneapolis MN 55406

Pay: $25-30 per Hour – Hourly rate is dependent on experience

Job Description:

Seeking an experienced fabricator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in wood working & production fabrication. Must have strong experience in solid hardwood woodworking and a variety of architectural millwork.

Wood From the Hood is a family-owned company with a simple mission… Reclaim discarded trees from local neighborhoods to create beautiful, high quality lumber products. Our custom woodworking team works alongside our sister company, Siewert Cabinet, to create custom pieces ranging from simple wood trim and housewares to highly intricate furniture and architectural elements.

Our shop operates on (4) 9hr days M-TH and a 4hr day on Fridays with overtime often available

Required Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques – Milling, joining, planning & sanding
  • Knowledge of wood species and characteristics as well as lumber cuts
  • Ability to read, understand and analyze architectural drawings
  • Ability to lift at least 100lbs

Bonus Skills

  • Forklift experience
  • Understanding of finishing techniques and processes
  • Cabinet making, CNC operation – ability to assist within other departments of our commercial cabinet shop is a plus
