Our History

  • 1965

    Siewert was founded in 1965 by Wayne Siewert in his south Minneapolis home and has remained in the neighborhood since that time.

  • 1975

    siewertcabinethistoryIn 1975 the business moved to a commercial building for the first time. It was in this location, formerly occupied by Wayne’s father as proprietor of Siewert Hardware, that the first two employees were hired.

  • 1979

    1979 saw increased business and the need for additional space. We purchased a 5,000 square foot building and during the years spent at this location we acquired another cabinet shop.

  • 1989-1996

    1989 saw a move to a 14,000 square foot facility. This allowed us to continue our growth, build new efficiencies into our process and continue to become ever more competitive. By 1996 our sales had grown to $1.5 million and we employed 19 people.

  • 1997

    In 1997 Siewert Cabinet broke ground for our current home in a new industrial park just a few blocks from our old location. This new 90,000 square foot facility, which Siewert occupied 30,000 square feet, enabled Siewert Cabinet to revamp operations and complete the computerization of our production and engineering groups. Shortly after moving in, new equipment was installed that would lead the Woodworking Machinery Industry Association to award Siewert Cabinet the Innovator Of The Year Award for 1999.

  • 2001

    2001 saw fantastic growth of the company with the acquisition of 20+ new employees along with upgrades in equipment and capabilities. Siewert Cabinet continues to participate in industry associations including the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI). Due to the ever changing needs of our clients, we continue to be on the cutting edge of our design and manufacturing process.

  • 2002-2006

    Sales volume increased 111%, and with it came investments in additional equipment, manufacturing space and employees, allowing us to remain a top producer in the industry.
